What does the BSSF do?
Bucks SafeStep Foundation supports victims of sexual exploitation and their families by providing practical help and advice from trained mentors with lived experience. We also train professionals to understand sexual exploitation, how best to support affected families and work with the police and criminal justice system.
Our mission is to:
- Ensure all children live a life free from violence and harm.
- Make sure anyone working with people affected by exploitation recognises and understands their needs.
- Listen to, learn from, and act on the voices of those who have experienced exploitation.
- Build confidence and skills in individuals and across the whole system.
- Use our special approach—experience-based, trauma-aware, safe, and encouraging—to create environments where empowerment is possible.
